Use & Care

Affordable, Durable + Low Maintenance

How to make your curava countertop last.

Cleaning

Day to day cleaning of Curava requires only a damp cloth, sponge or paper towel. We recommend warm water and a non-abrasive cleanser. Mild soap and water is the best option. For best results clean any food or liquid spills promptly.

Heat

Curava may not withstand sustained heat directed on its surface. This includes but is not limited to heat produced by direct transfer of hot pots to the surface, radiant heat from crock pots or electric fry pans, or direct exposure to heat lamps

Seams

Curava is NOT a seamless product. Your countertop will have seams in it where separate components have been joined, and they may be visible. A well-executed seam may be smooth to the touch but also be visible.

Use & Care

Caring for Your Beautiful Natural Seashells

Our design feature stunning natural seashells that capture the ocean’s timeless beauty. To keep these shells glossy, smooth, and vibrant for years, we recommend a simple care routine using safe, eco-friendly solutions.

Why Extra Care Matters

Over time, acidic water and long term exposure to acidic substances can slowly erode the shells’ natural alkaline surface, leaving them less glossy and slightly dull. With proactive care, you can preserve their shine and ensure your seashell accents remain as radiant as the day they were installed.

Protect & Enhance with Food-Grade Beeswax

A light application of food-grade beeswax forms a natural barrier against acidic wear, while also restoring the shells’ luster.
This method is:

  • Safe & Sustainable – Non-toxic, eco-friendly, and in harmony with Curava’s values.
  • Gloss-Enhancing – Brings back the rich shine and smooth touch of seashells.
  • Protective – Shields surfaces against dulling from everyday exposure.
  • Effortless – Quick and easy to apply just a few times per year.
Simple Steps to Care for Your Seashell Surfaces
  • Clean Gently – Wipe the surface with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Dry Thoroughly – Use a microfiber towel to remove all moisture.
  • Apply Beeswax – Rub a thin, even layer of food-grade beeswax over seashell areas.
  • Buff Lightly – Polish with a clean, dry cloth to reveal a glossy shine.
  • Repeat – Reapply every once a month, depending on exposure.

With just a touch of care, your seashell surfaces will continue to reflect the ocean’s brilliance—beautiful, timeless, and naturally protected.
